The Bonfire
“I stand entwined in fire on the inextinguishable bonfire of inconceivable love.”
Daniel Handler.
In ancient times, families and communities gathered around a bonfire to illuminate themselves, to share the heat and the stories. A large log was the food for the fire that should accompany the solstice festival and last until Christmas; it was the symbol of the hope of the rebirth of light, the return of life to the countryside, and that there can always be a better future.
